::  The first half of 2007 was spent in Dallas, TX where I decided I was going to make my big "comeback" into triathlons after taking a bit of a break.  I had the gall to sign up for the Playtri half ironman in April--in the elite wave.  Completely undertrained for my first "elite" race, I barely broke 6 hours and finished as 6th "elite."  I did a handful of small short-course events all over Texas and in May, truly got my big break--I was accepted onto teamTBB as a development athlete! Guinness and I moved back home to California over the summer, where I began my training under Brett Sutton via email, and my prosthetics residency with Gary Berke Prosthetics.  I quickly began to crush my PR's, hitting the podium in my age group at practically every race.  One of my season highlights was running with my older sister during her first half marathon at the Nike Women's Half. She's my childhood hero and is the one that got me into running!  ::
I also worked with a group of journalism students from San Francisco State University as the subject of an audio slideshow project.  They followed my training and race at the Treasure Island Triathlon, an olympic distance race, which unfortunately became a bike/run duathlon as the huge oil spill in the bay occurred just a few days before the race.  You can see the slideshow here at 1001words.org, just click on my face contorted in agony:
